Microsoft – No Longer a Windows Company

We have been saying this about Microsoft here at Miro for a long time – the company has evolved from being the supplier of the Windows Operating System, into a much bigger beast – they are now a server, software-and-services, and cloud company, with Windows being their third largest business.

In fact, despite many issues with Windows 8, Microsoft’s share price continues to rise. Zach Whittaker of ZDNet does a great job of dissecting Microsoft’s business model and backing up our belief that Microsoft is a diverse company that no longer has its eggs in one basket. Bill Gates has once again reclaimed his titles as the world’s richest man and Microsoft is thriving, despite consumer disappointment with the latest version of Windows.
